The task of The Writer Conversation is to create individual pathways for writers that will lead to effective presentation or publication. The task of The Reader Conversation is to present writers to a national readership.
Diversities is a major program in Peter’s Place, and every fortnight in The Reader Conversation there will be a Diversities presentation. There are four components to Diversities: An Arresting Voice, Regional/Rural/Remote, Our Hidden Writers and The Awkward Shelf.
An Arresting Voice seeks out and works with those writers who have something vital to tell us about themselves and the world but have not yet found a secure platform for their speech.
Regional/Rural/Remote explores the ways communities across Australia are discovering their unique stories.
Our Hidden Writers presents and markets writers who have been consistently marginalized in the commercial marketplace.
The Awkward Shelf enables the reading public to investigate finished books that publishers find difficult to place on the commercial shelf. Sympathetic readers can make all the difference!
And there’s the thrilling program that will come to define both The Writer Conversation and The Reader Conversation —the Annual Publication. Soon we’ll be able to tell you the whole story —and how you can become an involved and essential part of it.
